Wood Pigeons
Hi
Does anyone know if Wood Pigeons eat the fruit of Fuchsias? Every time I open the back door, I see one or two pigeons flapping off this bush, a Fuchsia Riccartonii which is full of the pod like berries. I have a couple of Tayberries nearby, but these are netted and I haven't noticed any fruit going missing from them. I just wonder if the birds are trying to work out how to get at the tayberries or actually eating the Fuchsia fruit to which they are welcome. Anyone had this happen in their garden?

they like eating leaves sometimes.
That might explain why I keep finding Fuschia flowers on the floor by the pot it's in, I couldn't understand why it was happening!! Pesky pigeons, the beagles will have it up their 'bad bird' watching duties
You can definitely eat fuschia fruits and they don't need to be a James Wong authenticated one!
Which type of Fuchsias are edible? Does it include Riccartonii? They don't feel particularly palatable not juicy at all. Does Mr Wong have a website you can visit? Lots of questions arising I'm afraid.
Pigeon is a wonderfully tasty meat. That is all..,
