Light Brown colour broad beans?

Hello - I'm new to allotment gardening and I've found that my broad bean pods contain pale brown, almost milky-coffee colour beans.  They seem fine, healthy and taste okay but I've only ever seen light green beans.  Is this normal or should I be wary?

Any help would be appreciated! image

Hi Hazel, sounds a bit iffy to me. I'm no expert, and hopefully someone with more knowledge will help you out here. I've grown broad beans for a few years and never had a problem. But this year I've had a really bad black fly problem and alot of my bean pods are badly marked with black blotches but with minimal damage to the beans. Have they possibly bean - couldn't resist ! short of water or gone over - past there best and started drying ? Just guessing as I haven't had this problem. Did you have a black fly problem or any other noticeable pest problem ? Hope you get an definite answer.
