I have 4 plants and so far 1 is badly affected. All the buds that come through on this plant is badly distorted.

Whiskeymac... my corky plants look very healthy, no buds yet. Hope its problem free.

  • Corkey has produced a few flowers, unlike last year when they all perished.

  • Thank you for posting this.  I had no idea and have not been affected, but who's to say it won't be my daylilies next year??  At least if it is, I'll know what to do.  I hope you make progress with wiping them out Whiskeymac, and get to enjoy more lovely flowers next year.

  • Thanks for the good wishes.

My garden was open for church fundraising day on Sunday.  Unfortunately, only one, healthy hem bud managed to break open.  Today there are 6 so hopefully the onslaught is over, but I'll remain vigilant.

  • Whiskeymac...when does 'corky' flower?? There's nothing on both my plants!!

  • Corkey is an early flowerer in July, so is prone to attack like other early hems.  Those flowering from late July onwards are unaffected, probably, hopefully, reportedly!

I'm on hols in France now so counting on having zapped the last buggy buds prior to leaving.

  • My corky plants looks healthy....but no flowers!!!

  • "My corky plants looks healthy....but no flowers!!!"

Are they in a sunny position.  It won't like much shade.  Open shade is OK.

  • The corky in the front garden is shaded by a tall aster!! The back corky gets some sun...puzzling though this flowered last year. Me thinks....I may have to move both corky to a sunny spot with no shade from other plants.

  • Get watering.  It may have just gone dormant in the long drought.
