I think you may be right Philippa, they are growing just like the courgettes. They are called Perfection,  not an apt name.image

  • As PS says, ridge cues run along the ground, usually in a cold-frame.

The fruits are usually prickly & stumpy.

  • Oh, and Lyn....no pinching or nuffin with ridge cues, just let em do their thing.

Thats it then, thank you David, they can merrily sprawl in the greenhouse, I have nothing else but a few strawberry runners in there at the moment.

The fruits are very rough ,prickly but I find I can rub those bits off.

Can you recommend a tall upright one for next year please.

  • Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, Lyn.....yes, 'Femspot' would be my recommendation. Prolific & easy peasy to grow.

  • OL, (and anyone who may have read my take on 'pinching-out' cues) I've spotted a possible flaw in what I said/meant, upthread. image

Train your cucumber plant to the top of its support, then remove the growing tip. This will result in the plant producing these lateral shoots....it's  then that you pinch these out as described previously.
