Tagetes Minuta

Sorry if there is alreday a thread about this, but I am thinking about using Tagetes Minuta to kill off the bindweed in my garden. I am concerned about some nearby shrubs - Buddleia, Viburnum and a Mountain Ash - would it damage them as well?

I don't believe the Tagetes minuta myth.

If it was that easy to get rid of bindweed and ground elder they wouldn't be a problem. It may have some small effect, like yellow rattle reduces grass in a meadow. But it doesn't take it away.

I had a look to see what the RHS say about it -nothing at all.

I think you be planting a not very attractive plant for nothing in the long term.

Tried it a few years ago, the Ground elder choked them out of existence.
