slow worms and ants
Hi all I've a prob u might be able to advise me on I've created a comp heap at the bottom of the garden (just moved into a new place gardens a mess) I noticed lots of slow worms about so I have just been laying the garden waste n grass on top of the heap trying not to move it around too much
I chose a hot day to give the heap a gentle turn so I don't hurt the slow worms and now I've got ants
Help !!¡
Do I get rid of the ants or just leave the pile till it gets colder and hopefully that will move on I will relocate a small heap for the slow worms to live in

Oh lucky, lucky, lucky you.
You can get nematodes 'Nemasys No Ant' to water onto ants nests, they will attack ants but won't harm anything else

It says here http://www.suffolkwildlifetrust.org/node/8952 that slow worms eat ants, so soon the problem will be sorted
