Half dying evergreen
Hi, An evergreen has struggled to come to life this spring and has dropped leaves throughout spring. It is now half alive and half dying. See photo. Should I cut out the dying branches or leave?

I can't see it well enough to see what it is but cut off the dead, it serves no purpose except as an entry for disease.
and it spoils your enjoyment

Thanks, I think it may be a Photinia.
Thanks. I have cut away the half that was dying but couldn't see anything.
If it was fire blight then I read that DEFRA has to be informed.
Cheers.
Hi Kevin - whereabouts are you? DEFRA only has to be informed if the outbreak is in Gt Britain but not on the mainland, eg Isle of Man, Northern Ireland etc.

It's a bit of a leap to decide it's fireblight though.
