    Nematodes is the answer.. 2 weeks since application and the slugs are down to a few each evening and morning (though this will need more monitoring as its obviously drier now).. Before the application on a bad day I could collect over 50 in one session (and that included the last dry spell)..

    If you can possibly water your ground the nematodes will survive.

    On the label it says to keep away from children and pets. If your children are of an age where everything goes into their mouths, I would ring the manufacturer to find out how long it will take for the pellets to become inactive. The fact it says to apply every 2-3 weeks should mean the life of them is not long. There is an advisory phone number on the label.

    It is always wise to read the labels thoroughly on (garden) chemicals esp. where pets and children are concerned.

    I dont control slugs at all, once you start a battle you will always be fighting! Its taken years but the garden seems to have a balance (finally!). I do protect vulnerable plants with spray etc image
