Victoria plum

Hi folks my plum tree is in its second year of fruiting, last year we had 23 enormous juicy plums that were fantastic and this year the tree us covered in dozens and dozens of tiny green plums. The problem is it's loosing quite a lot is this normal natural thinning or should I be doing something? (It is very hot and sunny prob the hottest day of the year) water butts are still empty but I could get the hose out.

It is the normal June drop Drywsdad, but two or three buckets full of water won't do it any harm.  I'd give it's roots a good soaking image

Yes indeed, and when it's finished dropping, you might still need to thin them out so you have a fruit every few inches.  This stresses the tree less, produces bigger, yummier fruit and discourages biennial cropping.

Ah think that's what I need to do , have an abundance this year but noticed a few fruits ripening and then going bad before others have even started to ripen , thanks
