Clivia (yellow)

My DH came home with a Clivia plant for me today, he was very proud of himself as he really never buys plants. I have no experience with this plant, any suggestions?

Clivias like to be pot bound, so don't pot it on until it nearly burst the pot. Water about twice a week and give it some liquid fertilizer once a week.Don't put it out into strong sunlight otherwise the leaves will scorch, a light shady spot is best. It is not hardy, so bring it inside around mid-October and don't water it again until April at the earliest, then start to water and feed again.

I think i brought one of these for my mom, she keeps it in the conservetory, on the floor, not too much water, it seems very happy. Sorry thats all i know, im sure one of the experts will chip in soon image

Brilliant Swiss Sue! Thanks to you both, I shall do just that.

One more quick question, the pot it is in currently is quite small (approx 7inches) should I put it into a large pot now and then leave it the hell alone? image

No, leave it until it's filled the whole pot (it will grow side shoots). Once it's done that, repot it in only a slightly larger pot, you will have to poke the fresh soil well down the gap.image

This is what mine looks like now (Google image, I have an orange one). See the size of the pot in relation to the size of the plant!
