Moving anything at this time of year is tricky-and it is in the lap of the gods whether it will survive or not-dig a big area out around the tree and get it out without disturbing the root ball too much-have the spot you want to put in it ready first, keep well watered and everything crossed -you might get way with it

    Good luck

I also have a mature magnolia with some very low limbs which get caught in the lawn mower if not lifted up. Can I cut them back as I was told not to prune it. Also if I can is there a certain time of the year.

Yes, you can and now is a good time as it's already flowered.
