Lobelia

I brought some trailing lobelia from a garden centre at a reduced price as it had become rather leggy but it was flowering. Should I trim it back before I put it in the baskets or will I cut off all the flower buds?

    Trailing lobelia is leggy. If you trim it back, it will branch and form more flowers, but later.

    Thank you very much. I have cut it back some and given it plenty of water, so hopefully it will b ok.
