Weed Id and dahlia feed

SupernoodleSupernoodle Posts: 954

Got a rare day off to work on garden.  About to tackle an area that has been left bare to weeds.  This pretty blue fella has appeared.  What is it?

Also, my dahlias in pots are very leafy but no flowers as yet. Should I feed (intended to use tomato feed) or wait until in flower?

That's Centaurea montana. A bit invasive and deep rooted but pretty

I don't know anything about dahlias, sorry

Re: Dahlias. It is still early for them to be flowering, but it is time to start feeding them with a high potash feed [tomato feed would be fine ]

Centaura montana is a magnet for bees - worth having unless it likes your soil too muchimage

Actually found a bee stuck in a spider web right next to the centaurea Montana.  Managed to free him.

Some of mine are out, but only the ones I grew from seeds last year,
