Ameture gardener trying to sow Lupin seeds!!

Sarah 30Sarah 30 Posts: 16
Hello everyone, I've brought a seed sowing kit from the ??1 shop which consists of a Tupperware type thing with a high lid on it and two different sized pots like egg cartons. Do I put the seeds in the small cartons first or the big ones? I'm thinking isn't it easier to put them in the big ones? Also is it one seed per carton? Wish I could upload a photo. Any help would be most appreciated

    Hi Sarah image

To upload a photo you need to click on the green tree icon on the tool bar above where you type your post.  Sadly it doesn't work for phones - yet.

Can you find anything that looks similar online, and then post the link?

If you have some small pots I would discard the kit and just sow the seeds in compost, one to a 7cm or 3inch pot. At this time of year, you don't need propagator lids or anything. That seed just  wants to grow.

I can't find anything similar @Dovefromabove . Thanks @Fidgetbones, I have 6 of the 7cm pots. On the instructions for the seeds it says to place in a cold frame or warm windowsil. Is the cold frame the lid?

I am new to the forum I am just saying Hi.   Lupin seeds. I save all my plastic containers from the the supermarket ie tomatoes,, strawberry containers.  These make great seed starters.   If you have some just put some compost in them put your Lupin seeds on the compost cover them then cover the top with cling film. Obviously before you do this give the compost some water.   Leave within a few weeks your seeds with be coming up.   Then just transplant the little plants wherever you want them.      But you can also just sow them straight into the ground during this time of year.  Be careful when the seeds start to grow because slugs love them.   Hope this helps.
