Strawberries! is it possible to have too much light?
in Fruit & veg
Ok so my strawberry plants had been doing really well even had a few red fruits on them but I was out all day (it was roasting!) and came home to find a few of my plants wilting the ones out the back in the shade seem to be ok but the ones in the front getting all the light looked awful (they were fine this morning!)
so is it possible that they have had too much light? am I doing something wrong? the soil was really dry despite me watering them yesterday, I have watered them again and put one out the back and a few in the shed with the door open it also had a window so there is some light!

I can't imagine that strawberries are happy in a shed in June - they should be outside now

As they've said it wont be light that's the problem (I'm sure I read that strawberries love the sun and don't like to be in the shade) but the soil drying up. I'm growing in pots this year (hoping to have a bed for them next year) and I am giving mine a little water both morning and night (feeding them once a week) so that the soil doesn't dry up.
Could you put your pots in a tray of water to give them more water throughout the day?
one of them seems to be toast cut the flowers off in the hopes it will come back the others seem to be perking up a bit think maybe the heat was the problem because it was a real spike probably a difference of 10 degrees c from the day before. its cooled down again today
