Hopefully this works a treat! bamboo cane in teepee style and fleece from poundshops. bargain. oh and pegs…..

    Looks great I'm sure the pesky carrot flys wont stand a chance ! I've planted alternate rows of carrots with onions, my first time trying the trick em with the onion smell method. Has this worked for anyone else ? Or is it probably not going to work ?

    Lily, good idea, I have just divided some chives too that are going into this bed. Companion planting but better than them staying in the pots I have divided them into.

    I've put a row of onions amongst the carrots.  Didn't stop the rabbit eating the lot though.  Feverfew too.

    Oh no ! Not pesky rabbits ! Possibly try the method that lady did that's been all over the news. The rabbits ate her parsley so she are the rabbit. She must really love parsley ! So far we don't seem to have that problem. It's my first year gardening here. We do see a lot of hares ( not in the garden ) but no rabbits. - L Bennett - yep I think chives would work just as well, you can't have too many lines of defence against the carrot root fly !
