I've got a nice little pink Oenothera, seeds about, looks nice with that annual Briza that's on one of the current ID threads. Oenothera rosea. Likes dry, it seeds in the gravel drive.
Yes Valerian is a good idea for poor soil however quite rightly it does get a little carried away so would not be suitable on this occasion Yep its very small, Pink Oenothera, I will look that one up thanks Nutcutlet

Yes maybe a bearded Iris would work at the back to give some height hmm thanks for that
