  • (((30cm max height)), I wasn't going to actually plant elephants ear in the border because it would not balance I was just throwing it in as an idea incase it prompted another suggestion image

    What's 30cm in old money? 15 or 16 inches?

    I shall have to remove by verbenas and some of the salvias

    That's small.

    I've got a nice little pink Oenothera,  seeds about, looks nice with that annual Briza that's on one of the current ID threads. Oenothera rosea. Likes dry, it seeds in the gravel drive.

    Valerian? It can get a bit carried away tho, but in a poorer soil it would be ok image
  • Yes Valerian is a good idea for poor soil however quite rightly it does get a little carried away so would not be suitable on this occasion image Yep its very small, Pink Oenothera, I will look that one up thanks Nutcutlet

    Some of the smaller grasses maybe? Festuca glauca, Stipa tenuissima

    I grew a very lovely alpine mint once, didnt look like an alpine, might be nice image
