rhododendron dying

Hi been away for a week and the person I asked to water my rhododendron has scorch/burn it by watering it in midday sun. How can I save it do I need cut the old heads off and leave the new bud head please help. Thanks

Red I don't know but I'd give it a good water and an eric' feed and see what others reply to you.
It's always a risk when you have to leave your plants to others, I don't even totally trust my OH, now considered as under gardener. Hope it recovers
