Confetti from Rose petals
I've had this idea that I might use some of my rose petals to make confetti for my sister's wedding on Saturday. Has anyone done this before and can give me any tips? i.e. do I need to do anything with them? How long once picked will they last?
It's just a thought at the moment but I though it would be quite nice.

I bought rose and other flower petal confetti for my daughter's wedding - it was dried and kept for a long while.
I think that to use petals fresh they would need to be picked that morning and kept cool but not cold.

Sisters wedding on Saturday??? Oh dear, OL....the petals should have been collected a week ago, placed on a tray & placed in the airing cupboard to dry....then as Dove says they would keep for a long time.
It's not too late if you can quicken the drying-up bit.
Could you put them in the oven after cooking and use the residual temperature to dry them up quickly?

My brain has been full of so much David that I only just thought about it and also though they would need to be fresh. Mi don't have an airing cupboard though......what about the GH? I will look at that article now, thanks Dove
Thank you so much Dove, that looks fab and will definitely try it. I can't do it on Friday though as my sis is here, unless I do it while she is soaking in the bath??
I love the last paragraph......
"Now. A final word on this confetti lark. It's really, really easy. And quick. And addictive. Even if you're not attending a wedding, I say microwave your blooms, open a bottle of fizz and fling them around until your hearts content. Then give the lawn a mow and they'll be gone. Just like that. Or even better, do it in your local park!"
I've just tried it with some Geum petals (the colour theme is cream and peach so they fit nicely) and it works......fantastic
