hello Justin; I would start off by weeding. If you don't know which is a weed and which isn't, just post photos on this forum and people advise you. At this time of year some plants will need a bit of a hair cut; again, post pics for advice. Good luck with your garden, which actually looks rather niceimage

Hi Justin image  What a lovely garden image

As Artjak says, weeding's the main thing to do at the moment, with a bit of cutting back for some plants after they've flowered, to encourage them to flower again this summer.

Also if they've not had any fertiliser this year a top dressing of Fish Blood & Bone (according to directions on the pack) and water that in if you don't get a good downpour in the next few days, will also encourage flowering into the autumn.

Can I suggest that you take pics of each flower/plant and make a list of what you've got - then we can give you more help if you need it?

If you can't identify the plants that's no problem - post pics on here and we'll have a go!

what a lovely garden, if you think that's scruffy nip round here!my front garden is all herbacous beds, 2 triangles with stone path, i can barely get to most of it, i've labelled all plants and taken photos and plan to split/remove/move a lot in autumn, for such a small space i'm making lots of work!

A bit of repetition works wonders, if you want to do a quick cover up job for the summer, pop out and get something like lobelia (lighter colours for shadier areas) and a few tallish plants, maybe campanula/ harebell, put the lobelia at the front campanula behind- instant border, will give you something to enjoy while you are learning and will keep you encouraged, no special care needed, just dont let them dry out.

The garden you have looks lovely, very impressed with your hedging skills! image
