gentle climber
in Plants
Is there such a thing?
I have a newly erected bamboo screen hiding my ugly oil tank. Its hung on a fairly substansially built timber frame, and is stapled to the frame within an inch of its life...
Id really like a little climber against it.. preferably something that flowers, and fits my cottage garden type theme. I dont want anything that grows too fast, or gets big and heavy and will pull it down / destroy it though. any ideas? it will also need to be in a container, or planted into a very shady & damp in winter border.
thank you!

I think its other name is chilean jasmine
What about some annual climbers - you can have different ones each year - sweet peas one year, Black Eyed Susie the next, and then Morning Glories - that'd fit in really well with the cottage garden theme
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Or one of the alpina clematis. They don't grow too big.
Clematis viticella cultivars would be worth trying. Long flowering season and tolerate hard pruning.
