Dead snails

Can anyone tell me what eats snails ans leaves a hole in the shell, it was on autumn watch last year, but for the life of me i cant remember! image

    I can remember hearing that glow worms eat snails - but I don't think they make holes in the shell image

    But they smash the snail's shell to bits - at least the ones in mother in law's garden do. image

    Well we do have mice, would voles live in the same sort of places? Its ever so strange, i keep finding little collections of shells with holes in! image
