I have an unidentified shrub/tree - can anyone help? It has brilliant yellow autumn colour, and at this time of year inconsequential tiny white flowers that the bees love. Probably more a small tree than a shrub
Is it a Wayfaring Tree - Viburnum lantana?
Are the leaves downy underneath?
Will go check - once the heavens have finished opening
No, not wayfaring tree, I know those well.
and this one is very familiar and I'm sure it will come to me
total guess. Styrax japonica?
could it be Cotoneaster Frigidus ?
sorry not sure of spelling.
no, it's not any of the cotoneasters
It it's decidous might it be a sophora? Bet it isn't
Its definitely deciduous - will google sophora
What sort of berries does it produce?
No - the first picture i posted shows the flowers in their full glory ( i said they were inconspicuous!!).
it could well be something that has seeded there rather than been planted.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
