Indoor rose has no blooms
Hi I have an indoor rose which had green fly and rust (I think!) so I sprayed the plant, repotted it and added houseplant compost and cut the damaged stems right back. Since then the plant has grown really well but has not produced any flowers. I wondered whether anyone could tell me: - why the plant is not producing any flowers any more, - will the plant ever produce flowers again, - when I could expect it to produce flowers, and - what I could do to encourage it to produce flowers again. Amy pointers would be gratefully received. Thanks Dee

I'll push this up the forum a bit.
My thought is that roses aren't indoor plants. You can keep one indoors for a while but it will crave cool and the great outdoors

I agree with Nutcutlet - they're sold to go indoors on a bright windowsill or in a conservatory, but they don't last.
I suggest you pop it outside - in a semi-shaded spot to start with while the leaves get used to the strength of the summer sun - and see what happens - you could even try planting it in a border if you have one.

I don't have a border but do have a balcony so I guess I will just put the pot putside and just see what happens.
Thanks.

Improved light levels should help things along.
Good luck

For the last 2 winters I have bought very cheap indoor roses from Morrisons and elsewhere. They flower well for a few weeks. When the weather gets warmer, I repot them into Verve compost or similar with Fish Blood and Bonemeal mixed in and put them outside. They will then go on to flower in the summer, which is their natural time for flowering. I don't quite know what the Nurseries do to get them to flower in January!
I have one that bloomed very well last summer, it is now in it's second year, it's doing ok, but I know that it would flourish more in open ground. I don't expect it to last another year.
