astrantia major

I have been growing this astrantia for many years but last year and this the blooms have been dull and rusty. I don't think it is the weather as last year it was lovely and sunny and this year damp and rainy. Last year I put it down to the very cold spring, but of course this year the spring was mild so......Should I sub-divide? Feed the plants? Scrap them altogether? Do perennials like this get exhausted? I have A. rubra as well and they are unaffected

Astrantias are pretty tough and cope with whatever weather they get. If it's not performing I'd scrap it

Thanks Verdun - that's very helpful. I can't afford to scrap things that take up quite large areas in my borders and the plants seem healthy other than loss of colour. I have now a more serious problem - a beautiful peach poppy that has come up every year since we've lived here (more than 20 years) and was probably more than 30 years old (I don't know what variety it is but I've got photos from previous years). This year the plants came up in spring as usual and then other things came up around them as usual (no sign of any disease) but then just disappeared! We feel bereft as we don't have any seeds and these plants had spread over a large area and were much admired.
We divided our A Hadspens Blood earlier this summer. The plants looked really well to start with, but now they have lost all their leaves. could they haven been eaten? And will the plants recover?
Did you keep it watered til it got established? It should be OK if you did
