Frog hopper / cuckoo spit / good, bad or indifferent

I have cuckoo spit all over and am trying to work out if the frog hopper is bad good or indifferent ! I have also got shield bugs .... I always thought that cuckoo spit should just   be ignored but now am worried! Are the adults bad and therefore I should try and remove the "spit" or can it be tolerated ? Is it the shield bugs that also do cuckoo spit - I believe shield bugs are harmless . Confused image

Cuckoo spit and the little frog hoppers inside it really won't do any harm and neither will the shield bugs image

Good, thanks for replying, I'm really pleased! Have left them to their own devices thinking was ok and then thought .. Er hang on, so much, I wonder if I've missed something.... so googled and got all confused with such conflicting advice ! One less thing to worry about x
