Chomped onion tops!

Been to the allotment this morning and something has eaten the tops of my onion leaves. I've not had this problem before and my neighbours onions are thriving.

Question 1 - what has caused it?

Question 2 - will they still manage to develop into something edible?

Thanks! HF image

  • Have had this problem for a couple of years now, resulting in fencing round the main veg plot.

It is either deer - we have a growing number in N Oxfordshire. or Rabbits - we have some very savoury ones here as they like onions, garlic and shallots. Have not managed to get oe in the pot yet though!
