Mystery Shrub

Hi All,

I have a shrub in my back garden:

It has smallish leaves, around 2cm long.  The very bottom of the shrub has loose, almost flaking bark.  It also seems to sprout up from the roots and regenerate.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    It's either Lonicera pileata or Lonicera nitida. Hard to tell from the photo but the growth on pileata is more horizontally spreading and not as tall as nitida which is a hedging plant and can get far too tall. Then fall over
