Shallots or not

I planted shallots in April , started off really well but now looking rather tatty and not many shallots ? Some of the leaves are yellowing , should I lift now or leave and hope something more happens ?

    Leave them alone billyjo, have patience, they will come.

    And plant them much earlier next year.

    Planted them as soon as I brought them welsh onion which was end of March / beginning of April but will take note for next year image

    When do you normally plant shallots out of curiosity?

    Depending on where you are, late feb or early march.

    Just because they are on sale in April it doesn't mean it is the ideal time.  I concur with Dave.
