Ground elder in raised beds for veggies, oh no!
I created raised beds for vegetables on a steep slope which was covered in weeds. i hand weeded quite carefully, but didnt know this was ground elder until crops were planted and it started shooting up. Bit of a problem eh? I am just pulling the shoots out to give the veg the best chance, but i know thats not a solution.
Strange thing is, on the untouched ground next to the raised beds, which is covered in weeds, its not the dominant weed, its been outcompeted by several including jack by the hedge, which isn't such a problem to pull out.
I guess when the veg are out, i try covering the beds, is that the best thing? I have got some permanent stuff though, rhubarb and fruit bushes.

Get some glyphosate and a small artist's paintbrush and paint it on the ground elder leaves, then leave it to die down. If you do this every time a new bit appears eventually you'll beat it.
If you keep pulling it out before the glyphosate has turned the ground elder leaves brown the roots will regrow double treble quadruple ..............
Good luck
