unhappy plants
Hello
I've noticed a few problems with a couple for plants and wondered whether you might be able to offer some advice as to what is wrong with them and what i need to do,
firstly chives - they have suddenly yellowed and have black spots all over them.
I assume I need to cut it all out, but how do i treat any new growth. such a shame the bees loved it
Secondly, I've noticed some of the geraniums have leaves that are yellowing. They seems to struggle in my garden but yet are due to be so easy to grow ! I plant them in groups of three, two out of the three may struggle on with a few flowers and then out of each group there seems to be a little runt of the pack.
Any ideas ?
Thank you

The chives look like they have leek rust or something similar. I would cut them back hard, clearing away any infected matter. Dig the clumps up, split them up and replant in good fertile soil with some added fertiliser. Water well in. they will soon grow new leaves which should be healthy.
The geranium I would also give a haircut, cut it down to about 6 inches or 15cm and give it a feed tickled into the soil around it, and water well in.
okay thank you. Just another question re geraniums I have Rozanne that i planted last year. it seems to be growing flat on the ground and it is only the flowers that stand up above the leaves. is this normal for Geranium Rozanne ?
sandy soil, so don't imagine that is the problem Verdun. lots of ants in the area ? would they be to blame.
Don't know about ants, but my Rozannes, though not forming mounds as such, have leaves which are closer to the soil than the flower stalks.
