Clematis & Sollya heterophylla
in Plants
I just wondered if anybody knows if you can plant a clematis Countess of Wessex with Sollya heterophylla in a patio planter together or if they need to be planted separately?

I think they'd both need their own space - clematis are hungry feeders and also need plenty of water if they're in a container.
I've not grown it myself but from what I read Sollya heterophylla is also a hungry feeder - I think it would have to be a very large container indeed that could provide both with what they need.
I can see the attraction of planting them close by - they will look very pretty together.

Also the clem might prefer to be outside in the winter and the sollya isn't truly hardy
