Moving Garlic

ommthreeommthree Posts: 314

Hello all,

I have a stray garlic plant which has somehow found its way into a part of the garden where I want to plant something else. Can I did it up and move it to be with its little friends, or will that kill it?

Thanks,

Owen.

It's my first time growing garlic. Is it time to harvest already?

    When did you plant it?

Now you're asking... October I think.

I planted mine in Autumn too... Garlic put in before winter develops roots and then starts to grow in Spring. I usually start harvesting after the Summer Solstice but the leaves have yellowed and there is a touch of rust plus I had run out from last year's harvest. I have only taken what is needed for now and will wait until my usual time for the main harvest.

I would suggest that you harvest the stray(s) now and leave the rest until later.

    Sounds sensible. Thanks!
