Pum Tree
in Fruit & veg
Planted a young sapling of this recommended new variety (better than Victoria apparently) four weeks ago. The leaves have developed small holes and some are curling up. I have pruned it recently and given it a good feed, both foliar and general fertisier (blood, fish and bone). Any other ideas to alleviate this problem?

It sounds like you have bacterial canker - full details here.
It's possible to treat it, but frankly, I'd take it back - it is reasonable to expect to buy a healthy tree rather than a sick one.
Thank you very much for your advice. The supplier at the garden centre where I purchased this tree (it already had a few holes then) says it was the result of a recent hailstorm!!
Unless they are very big holes, it sounds very much as though they're making excuses. "Shotholes" which develop over time are a sign of canker.
