of to move squash plants?

I mistakenly planted my squashes too close to my pumpkins. I have flowers already on the pumpkins but not yet on the squash. Could I move the squash plants and still get fruit, or leave them now?

How long have they been planted lesinnl, and how close together are they?

Plants in the squash family hate root disturbance so it could be risky to move them if they have been planted for more than a few days.  Unless they are just inches apart, it might be better to leave them be and train the squash vines (which can grow up to 5 metres or so) away from the pumpkins as they grow.  You'll need to provide extra water if you leave them planted close together and perhaps use a foliar feed to ensure both plants get enough nutrients.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Thanks Bob, they have been in the ground some time, so I'll leave them and work around them. I'll know next year to set them further apart. I have trained the pumpkins away and maybe train the squashes up as the fruit will be lighter. They are in light sandy soil so they get a good feed regularly. Thanks for the information.
