Plants left by last owner

Lovely Saturday morning to do some gardening! These were planted by the previous owner of a house I have just moved into, and I am wondering what they are,

the second picture is an almost flowering specimen.
I have an entire sea of them, and wondering how much bigger they are going to get!!

Hi Kassi
The first one might be lemon verbena - do the leaves smell lemony?
The second is figwort - a wild plant but it often crops up in gardens - one of the first plants I learned to identify as a child so I'm quite fond of it - if you google it you'll find out lots of interesting stuff.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Second one's figwort. Leaves smell strong, not very pleasant. HC
They don't smell of anything, that I can detect. Currently around 4ft with very shallow root system.
Thanks for such a quick id on the figwort, I'll be moving that to my wild area.
First one looks a bit like a Loosestrife to me. Hope it's not rosebay
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
The first one looks like a Penstemon of some sort?
I'd say a willowherb and figwort. Don't think the previous owner would have planted them - both appear from wind-borne seeds.
That's not some golden rod, is it, the first one?
I reckon no1 is one of those 'could be anythings', that we could recognise if it was in front of us but not in a photo
In the sticks near Peterborough
Once it has a flower on it, we will be able to identify it more easily!
