Pear tree

Hi there, I have a 4 year old Conference pear tree in my garden, it gets covered in blossom but the fruits start to drop at various stages of maturity until all are gone, it has no deseases and looks very healthy, but the fruit eventually drops. Any ideas anyone?

They can take a good few years to get going, jockpidd.  You can help by feeding it with a good sprinkling of fish, blood and bone in very early spring and mulching the ground around it a few weeks later.  Keep an area of about 2 or 3 feet from the trunk all around clear of grass, weeds and other plants - the mulch will help with that.  More here:

Thanks for reply bobthegardener, I do have some dwarf azaleas in same plot within a few feet of trunk so will find somewhere else for those, I do feed with blood, fish and bone but I haven't mulched so will start doing that in early spring. Many thanks..
