[video] - Are my plants doing okay? Plus is my soil ideal?

So I recorded a small video of everything, including my mini greenhouse... Two main questions, do the strawberry plants look healthy? Is the soil ideal for carrots, strawberries, tomato's and mint herb. Most of them are in the greenhouse, growing from seeds currently.

Just need to upload the second video of the greenhouse...

Its a work in progress, slowly working on digging the rest of the small tile, its tiring when you're 16 and all you do is eat, sleep, go to school, repeat. :P

  • Hey Kasey, great video footage, first id say well done its always good when plants stay alive :P.. i noticed on your first strawberry plant some dead leaves at the base, i always try and remove anything dead that's connected to the plant..

the plants look healthy, they have flowers which means fruit image so keep up the good work,

the soil was hold to tell, it looks a little like clay which is difficult to grow in, id suggest digging a 10 inch wide hole for each plant you want to grown and fill it with compost with a little of the dirt mixed.. mint is a hardy herb and in my experience will grow anywhere in just about anything and will prob outlast all of us image

I'll be outside all day tomorrow, as longs as the weather stays nice anyway! So I'll make sure to get rid of anything dead. Although, if only a small amount, lets say 1mm of the leaves are brown, should I still remove the whole leaf or just cut the small amount of brown off?

I'm also going to take a trip down to my local news agents, they sell lots of garden supplies, including compost. I hope to get enough of that so I can have the area next to the poly-tunnel full of nice carrots, with a row of Onions and Mint! Let's hope they survive my rookie skills and give me some lovely harvest in the future!

Thank you for all of the advice. image

Oh yes, mint spreads by runners and will cover your plot in a short space of time.  Grow it in a pot!!!
