Cats!!!!
Hi all
Fairly new to the site so sorry if this has been discussed before. We have just laid a lovely new lawn to replace gravel, however a cat is using it as a toilet regularly. It really is a mess every morning. I know there is a member of the coleus family which it supposed to deter them but that would only work in borders. Any advice would be welcome.

As you suspected, this subject has frequently been discussed on here. I think the general consensus is that the Water Scarecrow is about the only deterrent that works consistently for everyone.
If you put 'cats' into the search bar at the top of the page you'll get links to all the other threads discussing the problem. Sadly they sometimes get quite heated.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Thanks for the reply, I'll take a look.
Water pistol.
Got some ideas now, will try a few and let you know.
There are some foul smelling green crystals you can put down that deter cats. This only works If it is going back to the same spot all the time. You could back it up by laying twigs of hawthorn or similar thorny shrub over the area if it is localised. Hopefully it will find a new toilet place and forget your lawn
