Peas flowering

My peas which i grew from seed this spring and planted out about a month ago are only about 8 inches tall and are flowering and producing pods already. I'm pretty sure i did not plant a dwarf variety so at a bit of a loss as to why they are flowering now.
Any thoughts?

Please tell us what variety they are; it will be on the packet.
i maybe see the issue now...they are either Kelvedon wonder or (and heres the possible problem ) Tom Thumb! Think i'll go and plant some more Kelvedon and try and get a proper tall crop this year as well as the little ones.
