Privett hedge problem

I have a privet hedge where some are flourishing and others are practically dead. What can I do to bring them back to life? Thanks

Can you post a pic Andrea to let us get a better idea? If you click on the little green tree icon in the toolbar where you post it will give you  instructions.image

Privet is pretty tough so it's not likely to be pest damage. Waterlogging? An animal spraying it? Exposed site so wind damaged?  Is it a new hedge or well established, because  we think of it as an evergreen but it's only semi evergreen so perhaps some parts are just slow to get going especially if it's been cut back hard. If it's been cut back it would benefit from a general feed to give it a boost,  watered well and  then mulched.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Excellent advise! I will take some photos and come back.
