Plum Jubilee

Good afternoon,

I planted this plum tree two years ago; last year I had 2 plums and the leaves suffered crinkling and brown patches, some with shotholes.  I have always watered it well since it was planted

This year, the leaves appear to be suffering similar problems, but I do have more fruit.  These however, are still very small and have started dropping prematurely - about 50% have already dropped and only a very few appear to be putting on any maturity.

I live in an exposed site and wonder whether this could be the cause of the above problems or some other environmental factor, as we have experienced heat in the first week-end of May, then a frost, and cooler temperatures.

I have nurtured the tree during the last year, giving it a winter wash, foliar feeds, fertiliser, organic matter, mulch and plenty of water, so am a little disappointed.

Any advice gratefully received.

Many thanks, Lorraine

Thank you Dovefromabove for both your replies - however I do not know what you mean by 'bumping up' - sorry!!

Sorry - bumping up means that I've put a post on your thread so that your query moves back onto the front page so that it will be seen by other forum members.
