i take great delight in standing on a slug or snail but forgot myself the other morning when i popped out to the shed and stood on two with my slippers not quite the same as my wellies it wasnt nice having to scrape and wash the sole of my slippers!!
I had an ongoing war for almost a year ,every night and whenever I went out in the garden. I stood on then ,got them drunk ,salted them ,threw them and took them on long country walks. What a bloke I hear you all whisper . Yes . It worked and I proudly say that I have almost no slug or snail problem. The odd one now and again but nothing compared to invasion of before. So on my opinion it takes bloody hard work over a long period of time ,but the reward is as my friend Tony says is GGGGRRREAT.
Your enthusiasm Scotyboy puts me to shame . However, I shall go on an inebriated midnight roam with my drunken snails in a bucket. Promise me that ALL of you will speak up for me when I get taken to court for snail homicide whilst under the influence.
We use organic slug pellets, they cost £5 a tub..the snails and slugs love em, they have a bite then go under a stone to die, so you won't see their dead slimey bodies everywhere. I still from time to time if i see one it gets squashed. By the way they love compost bins...so remember to sprinkle some pellets around the bins.
Like both the ideas of organic slug pellets. I shall visit the well known auction site to purchase same. I shall miss the satisfying crunch but feel it is now time to curb my homicidal excesses
Pleased it did for you, firebird2110 ,Rob. I tried that method too but the little blighters took no notice and continued to thrive neigh survive in greater numbers.

I love the sound of crunching snails underfoot in the evening. (the only good snail is a dead snail)

Hi
I recently purchased some organic slug pellets from a well known auction site which are made of sheeps wool
and they work a treat and are non toxic as well
Slug Gone Wool Pellets
hope this helps

Hi
I have also used the nematodes remedy and this seems to have cut down the slug population as well
