Badgers and Sweetcorn

for the last two years I have had beautiful sweetcorn plants, had the first delicious cobs and then overnight badgers decimated the plants knocking them over and eating all the cobs. Has anyone had the same problem, and does anyone know how to stop it happening again this year?
