Will my rose bush ever flower?

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me.

Last year my Mum passed away and the funeral director gave me a rose from the coffin display. I put it in water and later planted it in soil using rooting powder.

For months new leaves would come and then die off then come back again.

I have re-potted the rose now and so far we have more new leaves and none have died.

My Question is, do you think I will ever get any roses? I am happy to be patient if it is going to take a while but just wondered if my perseverence will pay off in the end?

Providing it has made roots then yes it will flower-just leave it to get on with it.

As Geoff says, if it has rooted it certainly will.

However, they do take a long time to start growing properly - they need to be left undisturbed for about a year, so you do need to be patient.
