Too true Ceres. I'd like to run the stupid things over but one flew up in front of my daughter when she was driving the horse lorry resulting in a smashed windscreen so I just slow down and swear a lot
My daughter has a chihuahua/jack russell cross, a lovely little dog who enjoys demonstrating his fearlessness (possibly overcompensating for his size issues) by barking in a feisty, 'get out of my way' manner.
When she and her OH were living with me they got fed up with me sounding like this whole thread and trained their dog to chase the pigeons. He loves chasing things (as long as he never catches up with them) so win for him. Pigeons got very fed up with having to drag their fat a***s out of reach and moved on so win for me!
They have now moved into their own home and the dog's skills are honed regularly in my daughter's garden, all I have to do is invite them to dinner once a month and let the dog out in the garden. Job done!
"The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it." Sir Terry Pratchett
Sorry about the big empty space, that should have been a cute picture of my pigeon scarer but I clearly haven't got the whole putting pictures in posts thing sorted
In my defence I am staying at my daughters and she has a Mac which is just beyond me, I will repost tomorrow when I am at my own machine
