Apple tree problem

planted this royal gala 2yrs ago, was told it was already around 1.5yrs old. its first yr went ok but then started to have curled, dry leaves. I have seen ants on it. Not sure how to cure.. can anyone please help

Possibly an aphid problem - I would make up a weak soap solution and spray them
