Broken top tomato
in Fruit & veg
After combination of rain & a snail snapped off the growing top of my Gardeners Delight foot high tomato plant, I'm hoping to grow another tomato from the broken tops. I'm also wondering if the side shoots (that we're normally supposed to pick off) now sprouting from the joints of the 2 remaining lower branches on the damaged plant will be able to bear flowers & fruit - does anyone know?

The broken top may root if you tidy it up and treat like normal cutting but like all cuttings not 100% guarantee of success.
As regards the sideshoots leave one on to take over as leader remove the rest and carry on as normal-it will flower and fruit.
Many thanks

The side shoots will root & sometimes can even catch up the mother plant.
Encouraging - thanks.
