MAGNOLIA PROBLEM

Hi, I planted my magnolia stellatta in 2012. For the second year running now the leaves form in early spring then turn yellow then brown in mid May before dropping off within a few weeks. No blossoms yet - plant has only grown about 6 inches in 2 years. Any advice please

    Hi Steve, i went  to RHS Stellata,on the net perhaps if you try it and check that your set up is correct for your Magy it might help,we have about 7 mags the stellatta about 4 years old (they are slow growers at first )is just superb  this year, we fed on FBB and plenty of water ,it also has no other trees / shrubs, near by competing for its water  Good luck

    Hi Alan, been feeding it FBB for a few weeks. Haven't watered due to the amount of rain we've had. It is growing in a gravel bed - no other plants nearby.

    Alan, did your leave go the same way for the first couple of years ?
