Preventing rust on mint

My mint plants were very "spotty" last year and I was advised that it was probably rust. I've bought some Roseclear but see that it should not be allowed "to drift on to food plants". So presumably that's out! Is there anything else I could use that will not harm the mint?

Mint plants usually grow out of it.
